Bethany says hi. And this week she started dishing out her killer cute hi + wave combo to strangers. Melting hearts all over NYC, this girl. She also says mama, dada, car, socks, buh-bye, moo, no, outside, all gone, and attempts a few more.

Bethany loves her shoes. All I have to say is "shoes" and she goes straight to the shoe drawer and picks out a pair. Sometimes it's her rainboots, but most often, it's her pink patent pleather flats. (We somehow ended up with way too many size 5 shoes. Oops! It's been fun.)
In hand-me-down gladiator sandals that she sadly outgrew before summer.
Bethany loves my shoes. She works those heels better than I do!
Bethany's got moves. She'll bounce, sway or spin to the music. My favorite is the spin move, which usually turns into running in circles til she's dizzy.
Bethany signs milk, more, eat, all done, diaper, hi, bye, and cracker (Isaac also learned cracker since his post on Friday). She also loves to shake her head no, and if we do it first, nod her head yes.
Bethany knows her colors. She can't say them, but she knows which ones she likes and she sticks to them. She loves to carry one ball in each hand, and it's almost always the red and green ones. She can pick out her socks from her brother's. She'll grab both loveys, and hand Isaac's blue puppy to him while she clings to her pink bunny.
Bethany knows what she wants, and goes for it. It's usually at her brother's expense, although she's been known to squabble with some much older kids over a toy. I suspected that being twins would either teach them early how to share or steal, and apparently it's both--he's learned to share, and she's learned to steal.
Bethany is a great little (okay, big) eater. She tries everything, and usually finishes everything. And she's proud of her little (okay, big) belly--just say "belly" and she'll show it to you. We're proud of her belly too. We're pretty sure there's never been a more beautiful girl than our Bethany Brynn.
Bethany accessorizes creatively. She can make...
a bangle out of a cookie cutter
and scarf/necklaces out of pajamas
(Remember this dress from last May? Crazy how she's grown!)
Bethany loves hats and head bands, but she won't really wear them. She'll just put it on, take it off, put it on, take it off... All day long. Or for at least a minute.
Bethany gives hugs and kisses. Her hugs are unbelievably soft and squishy, and her kisses are the kind that mommies give to daddies. It's sweet and hilarious. You've been warned.
Bethany is a total goofball. Her silly side has really come out lately, and she's been laughing that throaty chuckle of a laugh so much more. She knows when she's doing something funny, and she looks at us and smiles while she does it. She likes to be tickled and if she finds our bare toes, she'll tickle us back. She'll imitate our movements--at the end of a meals we'll do spirit fingers and twists and both kids love it.
Big sis, we love you!

Ha! The kisses that mommies give daddies - love it. I've loved both of these posts. We're big fans of the twins over here!
ReplyDeleteI love that Bethany just naturally accessorizes, a girly-girl of my heart. And who doesn't long for a really special kiss? But you might want to think ahead about those heart-throbbing kissed-back-to-life scenes in Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, Tangled, Beauty and The Beast, and every other wonderfully romantic fairy-tale (sigh). I think Kristi and two-year-old Anna have had some discussions on the topic, lately. Favorite pics: Bethany and the shoes! Thank you for sharing highlights on Bethany; I was hungry for this sequel to your delightful previous post on Isaac! Love, Mom/Suzanne/Grandma
ReplyDeleteHands down favorite: Cookie cutter bracelet! And the jeans/white t and converse by the door. Such a model. Gotten a box yet???
ReplyDeleteDarling post. What a princess. For some reason the wastebasket on the head tickles me. (Although if you said it was Isaac I'd believe you.) Some day she'll wonder how you could let her do that. She is so pretty and such a clown. Thanks for the story.
ReplyDeleteAh, thanks ladies for indulging my bragging about my cute kids.
ReplyDeleteMimi--it's a bucket! Just as silly as a wastebasket on the head, but 100x less gross. I think someday she'll be proud I let her do that. :)
Oh kisses! Befamy, I like you so much. We should hang out every day. Oh wait, we kind of do. Lucky me! And that belly - incredible! You should be proud!
ReplyDeleteBaby girls are so great. The accessorizing is especially awesome.
Millie likes to give those kind of kisses too. Awesome.
