A sippy cup per kid that I watched today.

This picture says more to me than just that I had a crazy--fun, but crazy--day with 5 kids under 5. (Fortunately the most I had at a time was 4.) It's about the amazing friends I have here in NY! A lot of us here are transplants, and I think as a result we fill in for far-away families. Moms and non-moms alike. We watch each other's kids. We pick up each other's groceries. We meet up for playgroup. We swap baby toys and clothes. We understand the love/hate relationship between a mom and the city. They make all the tough parts of city life livable, and the best parts even better.

ReplyDeleteYeah, thank you so much Debi - let me know about Thursday. I love our NY Mommy network.
ReplyDeleteAw, that's what I miss most about the city. Although I never had that many kiddo's at once! You're a champ!
ReplyDeleteThis totally made me weepy. Maybe it's because I am the grateful recipient of this village of women in action. Maybe because I haven't slept much the last few days. Or maybe I'm a wimp. Probably all 3. Hands down the best part of living here! THANK YOU!!!! Ah crap, I'm weepy again. I should take another nap.
ReplyDeleteTouching!
ReplyDeleteHow cute to label them! It reminds me of an apartment of girls in college who labeled their counter with each girls first initial to place their cups so they wouldn't have to do the dishes so much. But, in this case, minimizing germ passing was the goal I am sure. So, do you trade with another mom next?
ReplyDeleteAmen. I couldn't agree more. I'd be lost without you amazing NY women!
